Interior mattress can be 39" x 75 " after conversion. (Long Twins measure 39" x 80"). Or...it could be made into a bed with room for a trundle.
Mattress height... from the ledge which will support the slats there is 10 7/8" to the top of the siderail in the middle. Slats are 3/4" so the mattress should be 11" thick so that it shows over the edge of the siderail about an inch. The wing height is 18". Siderails as shown measure 67". The cabinetmaker will covert this bed so that it can take a normal length twin mattress.
At each end of the siderail the height is 16 1/4 ".
All original Danish bed c. 1860 with dramatic bowed top and plaster grape decoration. Gorgeous turning on the footboard, outstanding finials on the headboard. Excellent condition.
