$3500 Danish Clock #CLKD101
Height 76"
Width 18 1/2"
Depth 10 1/2"
Danish baroque clock c. 1800 with fabulous signed face and excellent brass works.
Only the one hand, typical of this early time period and 24 hour works.
The original finish was very worn, so we have applied a flat greyish white oil paint which is nice and chalky. You can, however, select another color to paint over this white if you wish.
The works are very interesting! Both time and chime wind clockwise which is quite unusual. Also, the positions are reversed and the chime is on the right side of the face.
The weight on the right always needs to be a bit higher. It controls the hour. If it hits the bottom of the case before the left hand weight, then the hour will not ring out and you must adjust the time by using this little lever.
The hour is adjusted by pushing on the little lever.
The top of the pendulum must be inserted through the fork opening - also quite unusual!
Fully restored, running very well and ready to go home with you.
