Really fabulous Swedish plank table c. 1800 in excellent sturdy condition.
This was a hardworking kitchen table. You can see at the one end where the meat grinder was attached...
Made of two 14" planks...
The interesting curved panel...well originally we can see that this table was rectangular! Then someone must have yearned for an oval table but had a very tall person in the house...thus the compromise wing for very long knees. Originally there was also a wing on the opposite side of the table. We can remove the wing or leave it as is. It is pegged into the main table. On the opposite side you can see where the other one was pegged.
Each piece on the base had a beveled edge - lots of work and love put into this sturdy table. Very comfortable to sit at even on the short ends because of the huge overhang.
