| Marble Topped Cabinets Small cabinets or cupboards that we call wash stands with marble tops. They were used with a pitcher and bowl. The incised line on the marble top was to catch drips.We can put a wooden top on any of these. Many of these can be raised several inches if you wish to use one as a bathroom vanity with a sink.       Remove the two top boxes....    the little notch my husband is pointing to held the overhang on the
other box. The boxes were constructed so that it was not obvious that
they could be removed.Slide open the support...  and underneath are three small dovetailed drawers. |

In order to accomodate all the requests we get for a powder room piece maximum 24 inches in width, we have raised the height and made a wooden top. We can adjust the size of the top of course. The marble tops are always original, usually just placed on the top of the furniture which is strongly dovetailed. The white marble is Italian, the red or brown marble is Swedish. We can put a wooden top on any of them though, just ask us. |

Item # Nightstand 1222-1 Height 30-31" Depth at top 15 1/2" Width at top 16 1/2" One of the rarely found Swedish nightstands, so cleverly made so there is room to put a book on the shelf and yet there is a drawer for small items and a cupboard originally intended for a chamber pot which of course you use in that fashion if you wish! Handsome original marble on the dovetailed top, pretty small bun feet. The hardware came with this piece but is not original. This would make a perfect hall piece or storage between two windows or on a stair landing. Unusual in between height which is great to balance other more conventional pieces in a room.
