This is a breathtaking fixture. Danish c 1940, earlier perhaps. I should say that it is from a Danish home, however I would guess they were made in Sweden or Italy where there was a marble mining industry.

There is one old crack that runs from the edge towards the center and goes through partially to the outside. Then there are two age cracks as well which I have also photographed.

This lamp is solid and sturdy however and extremely handsome.

Danish wrought iron chandelier with original wiring that must be removed. You can either have this chandelier rewired or pull out the old wiring and use for candles. We recommend cleaning up with WD-40 that is all it takes to bring back the beauty of the hand wrought metal but this must be done after the new wiring is applied. Weight is about 50-60 pounds.

Silicon Bulbs

These great silicon tipped bulbs are available at lighting shops. They make a sconce or chandelier softly romantic with the appearance of real candlelight.

Chain....we don't often have any spare old chain but recommend that you buy the equivalent from De Sherbinen's who have a good selection. They have antiques brass chain in various gauges for a few dollars a foot. Lowe's also sometimes has some nice antique brass chain. A customer just told me that one way to darken chain is to wet in salt water then fume with ammonia, another way is to use brass darkener which is usually a diluted muriatic acid.

Here is some old Danish chain which we have 2 yards of for $20 a foot....

We also have new solid brass chain....$55 for a one yard length.

Inside of most caps there is a llittle loop which is hung on a large cup hook shaped hook which is screwed into a wooden ceiling stud...

When we ship we generally remove three arms so that the chandelier can fit in a reasonably sized box. The screws will then be attached to the body...
