$350 #Item bell pull 07029-2 petitpoint and mermaid hardware! Height 6" Width 7" This Danish bell pull is c.1900. It has the only set of mermaid hardware I have ever seen. Beige background with soft faded floral designs. A bit faded a bit worn but in sturdy condition and was very well stitched and assembled.   The gryphon is done in petitpoint and holding the Danish pennant.  The unicorn is also done in petitpoint and holding the Danish flag!  |

$145 #Item bell pull 07029-3 Cottage charm Height 49" Width 6 1/2" Romantic Danish bell pull c.1940 expertly stitched and assembled with lovely yellow red trim and a taffeta backing. The background is a medium beige. The roses are stitched in rose shades and the open flowers which I think are peonies in shades of lavender with gold centers. Small forget me knots are done in the prettiests soft teals imaginable. Foligage mainly in yellow greens. The one small leaf in the upper left side is missing perhaps four stitches. Softly faded and lovely. Clean and in very good condition. Heavy brass hardware. |

$195 #Item bell pull 07029-15 Height 49" Width 6 1/4" Danish bell pull c. 1920 with clean tafeta backing and silk trimmed edging. Brown background with Roses and Lilac blossoms. The buds are exquisitely stitched in shades of gold, yellow and palest green. The foliage is in blue greens and yellow greens. Most unusual solid brass hardware which looks gilded although I think it is just the color of the brass but it looks more gold than brass. Delicate and lovely hardware, well fitting. Excellent condition, expertly sittches. |

You pull gently on the bell pull and the bell tinkles softly. In the good ol' days you could call a servant and get a cup of tea this way, try it and see if anything happens! Expertly stitched on a clean light beige background with a beige taffeta backing and dark red twisted trim on the sides. Roses arein shades of pink, lilies in whites and beiges, foliage in yellow and blue greens. Excellent condition. |

It is so nice to see anything with peonies, never enough of them and of course ferns are most unusual. All wool with a twisted crimson rayon edging and a sateen backing in beige. Peonies in pinks and wine reds. Lilies in off white, greens and gold. There is a daisy like flower in creams and golds and another peony in salmon pinks. Ferns in blue greens. Background is a darker beige. Ferns are shadowed in lighter blue greens, very pale. A few stitches missing from top left flower at the base of the flower, otherwise excellent condition. Heavy brass hardware well fitting. x |

Item #bellpull0501-3 Height 29" Overall Width including hardware 6 1/2" Design ...Floral Condition...Excellent This is the prettiest bellpull and so unusual in its design. Rich brown background with velveteen edge trim and a satin back. The stylisized flowers which are much like traditional crewel designs are done in lilacs, grays and apricots with silk stitching to highlight and brighten. The pattern is worked in wine red, pinks, gold yellows and soft greens. The leaves are yellow and blue greens. Hardware is heavy solid brass, well fitting. Made c.1920. Excellent condition. Cleaned and ready to hang. Superb stitching. x |
A little historical note...In the not so distant past, men smoked cigars and pipes in the fine living room areas of the home and that is where these beautiful pieces usually hung. So all of my needlepoint pieces are cleaned and any necessary tiny repairs are done, most are in exceptional condition, but do need cleaning. |

The bell, how it works and how to attach
it.... Shown at left is the mechanism which rings the bell and which is used to attach the bell to the top piece of bell pull hardware. Just unwrap the little look gently, sometimes it looks more like a hook and press around the top hanging hole of the bell pull hardware. I often use needlenose pliers very gently to do this. The bells are all solid cast brass and in working order. Click on any photo to see an enlargement. |
