Condition...Very clean, one small moth eaten spot (shown on one of the photos) and a tiny pinprick (ditto).
Colors... Palest green background, delicate twisted off white edging. Roses in rose and burgundy, forget-me-nots in shades of blue with yellow gold centers, soft green shading on a cream interior background. Green background in wool, interiors in silk and wool. Expertly stitched. Exquisite! Back facing is a clean taffeta like fabric in a greeny gray color. Danish c.1940. Original brass hardware. Bell is not original but equally old and matches very well. Cleaned and ready to hang.

Extremely fine stitching in a silky thread. Blue twist edging in royal, beige clean backing. Danish c.1920. Original solid brass hardware. Bell is not original to this piece but an equally old bell and the colors of the brass harmonize very well. Expertly stitched.

A most unusual bell pull! The background is done in all wool in a dark rich teal, a color seldom seen. Edged with a deep rich blue velvet type fabric. Backing is a satin or sateen.
Ahhh, roses. All done in shades of rose and wine red in all stages of bloom. Leaves in yellow greens with beige ornamentation.
Hardware is solid brass with black patination, well fitting.
Extremely clean condition.Colors much more soft and subtle than shown in closeups.

I do not believe we have ever seen this pattern before. It is so nice to see anything with peonies, never enough of them and of course ferns are most unusual. All wool with a twisted crimson rayon edging and a sateen backing in beige.
Peonies in pinks and wine reds. Lilies in off white, greens and gold. There is a daisy like flower in creams and golds and another peony in salmon pinks. Ferns in blue greens. Background is a darker beige. Ferns are shadowed in lighter blue greens, very pale. A few stitches missing from top left flower at the base of the flower, otherwise excellent condition.
Heavy brass hardware well fitting.

A very distinguished bell pull with a warm light brown beige background, all wool. Peonies in pinks and delicate reds. Pansies in blues, crams and golds. Side view of peonies in apricots. Pansies in soft lilacs and delicious purples. Leaves in browns with golds and blue greens. Smootly stitched overall. Edged in perfectly matching twist. Backing a very nice clean cream colored linen type fabric.
Solid brass unique hardware, well fitting. Very clean and excellent condition overall. Measures 64 inches in length.

Unusual bell pull with black background, all wool with black twist edging and a sateen back. This bell pull is lined with some kind of stiffener and hangs beautifully. Original handsome brass hardware with black patination and original heavy brass pineapple pattern bell. A few stitches are missing, afraid that the moths may have visited but bell pull is overall in excellent shape.
Colors are still vivid although softened. Pinks and wine reds, creams, soft blue and yellow greens, soft rusts and golden yellows and creams. Beautifully stitched roses and lilies. c. 1920

A pretty bell pull on a medium beige backround with a sateen type back. Heavy brass hardware, well fitting with little flower decorations. Rose, yellow, lilac, soft greens, purply grays and beiges. There is a bit of wear on one side edge not visible from viewing. No missing stitches. Wool yarns are softly faded. Made perhaps c.1940 by an experienced needleperson. Cleaned and ready to hang.

This is the prettiest bellpull and so unusual in its design. Rich brown background with velveteen edge trim and a satin back. The stylisized flowers which are much like traditional crewel designs are done in lilacs, grays and apricots with silk stitching to highlight and brighten. The pattern is worked in wine red, pinks, gold yellows and soft greens. The leaves are yellow and blue greens. Hardware is heavy solid brass, well fitting. Made c.1920. Excellent condition. Cleaned and ready to hang. Superb stitching.

A little historical note...In the not so distant past, men smoked cigars and pipes in the fine living room areas of the home and that is where these beautiful pieces usually hung.
So all of my needlepoint pieces are cleaned and any necessary tiny repairs are done, most are in exceptional condition, but do need cleaning.
