Danish dresser in original brown grain paint.The pullout on the top drawer is meant to give a shelf for arranging jewelry and small items,likely this was a man's dressing piece.
The hardware fits the time period of c.1870 but is not matching. We can't decide if they used two kinds of hardware -unlikely or if over time some of the bail handles broke and the owner found similar hardware.
There is a repair to the pull out which we will paint to match.Otherwise this dresser in great shape.

Huge and fabulous Danish cupboard in its original finish. c.1870
The story is that is was made as a wedding gift for a wealthy young couple. It is in super good condition with its original grain paint. Fortunately it comes apart in pieces and is quite easy to move and set up again. Original working locks.

Rare barrel fronted Danish armoire c. 1850 in its original grain paint. Dovetailed drawer with original pull. Pegged overall. Original hardware and working lock. Unusually deep for its size and can work as a closet if we add a rod. The original fancy moving pegs are still there, you can see them in this photo...
This wonderful armoire comes apart in pieces easily reassembled, handy to go up narrow stairs.
The crown is easily removed.

Swedish trunk c. mid 1800's with original green paint and wonderful iron strapping. The date may be a bit earlier based on the lock. The strapping is worn on two corners on one side bottom, otherwise in terrific condition for its age overall. This is such a great size and so useful to put under a table or on a sideboard for storage and decoration! All pegged...
You can see how the peg has popped out in this photo. Always look for
this in antique furniture. The grain of the peg is vertical, drys inwards
as opposed to the grain of the wood it is put through which also dries
inwards, therefore the pegs always pop over time.

Swedish trunk from 1853 in its original paint. The hinges have been replaced and someone added handles on the sides about 1900. Some wear on the lower corners as could be expected. Otherwise generally in super condition with gorgeous paint. The base color is a blue green. The flowers are done in off white and peachy rose tones.

This would make a nice hallway table for your keys or a small desk next to a guest bed.
I am writing the description with the drawer from this cabinet on my desk in order to try and describe the color which is a dreamy robin's egg blue. It is a blue with a lot of gray and a lot of yellow. I have tried twice to sneak this piece home with me--it is that charming!
This would make a perfect stand for a flat screen tv!
Original brass drawer pulls, leather hardware for the key escutcheons. Beautiful beaded molding, dovetailed drawers, even the sides of the drawers were beveled with care.
The paint...ususally I am quite sure if it is original or not but I am not sure on this piece and I will not guarantee it as original but I am not sure that it isn't either. It is a very Swedish color but it does not have the wear signs and stains I associate with an original finish. The back on this piece is impressive, nice thick beveled boards but I believe they are a replacement. So my best guess is that someone lovingly restored this cabinet and painted it this heavenly color, probably within the last 50 years. Nonetheless, I think I may try to sneak it home with me one more time!

Here is a Swedish jelly cupboard c. 1880 with its original bold grain painted finish, dovetailed drawers. The hardware is definitely replacement and we would be happy to remove it put on something else. Excellent condition

This is the hardware on the door which is actually a drawer pull turned
sideways. It is from the same time period and could b original, we won't
know until we remove it but it is certainly as flamboyant and energetic
as the decoration.

This is an extremely early Swedish cabinet with wonderful wrought iron hangers, c.1800. It was however repainted and stenciled in Madam Blue colors probably around 1900. Excellent condition, very charming.

This American cupboard has wide boards, original hinges, nice back and shelves with moldings to keep stuff in! Excellent shape. The little closing mechanism was added later but works just fine. This is the tough kind of paint too that could stand out on a porch. Practical AND charming.
