Isn't this a marvelous rug? Thick, soft, clean, in super condition with macramed fringe. Swedish c. 1920. The pattern is worked in different materials. This is an amusing rug which started out life much longer. The fringe at the one end has a woven finish, the other end is overhand knots, only noticeable if you really get down and look! The colors started out with a dark pattern and got lighter as the rug got longer. A terrific range of fabric and color, obviously well planned by the weaver. Tightly woven and soft, lovely table runner.
