$1250 Item #Trunk 01108-1 Height 26" Depth 24 1/2" Width 48 1/2" Large handsome Swedish trunk dovetailed and pegged with original strapping. c.1850. The one strap is missing on the left front and hopefully we can cut a similar piece. Otherwise excellent condition with great hinges and rosehead nails. Exactly the right size to go at the end of the bed for pillow and blanket storage and can function as a great seat as well. Nice clean interior. Can you see how the bottom planks were cut? They are the shape of the tree trunk, another indication of great age. Price includes full restoration and your choice of finish.

Beveled oak breadboard ends on the top. Little storage compartment on one side. Clean and sturdy although unrestored at this time. Restoration included. If you need more height we can add on 2" bun feet that look like this....  |

It has some kind of wax finish but we would like to rewax it for you. c.1800 or much earlier based on the plank shapes, pegging and hinge straps. We can add bun feet if you like to add on 3" in height.

The date may be a bit earlier based on the lock. The strapping is worn on two corners on one side bottom, otherwise in terrific condition for its age overall. This is such a great size and so useful to put under a table or on a sideboard for storage and decoration! All pegged...  You can see how the peg has popped out in this photo. Always look for
this in antique furniture. The grain of the peg is vertical, drys inwards
as opposed to the grain of the wood it is put through which also dries
inwards, therefore the pegs always pop over time. |
